Career Path
CDI offers many exciting career opportunities. How do you want to grow your career?
We want our employees to spend their careers -- continually challenged and growing -- at CDI. That's why we invest $1M a year helping our teachers gain cutting-edge knowledge and skills through our on-site training program -- so they can be their very best at work today, and into the future.
We also see every CDI employee as a leader -- we want you to lead in our field and in our organization. We recently created The Leadership Institute of CDI -- an extensive management/leadership training and development program through which we systemically grow and develop our own leaders.
Whether you choose to stay in the classroom or to pursue the administrative /management track -- we want you to bring your very best to this work. We want you to be continually challenged, learning and growing.
Starting out as a Teacher (teacher level depends on education level completed and experience) you can grow your career in many ways. Positions, which work directly with children and our centers, include Curriculum Specialists, Assistant Site Supervisors, Academic Support Specialists, Site Supervisors and Program Directors. Your childcare experience is also valuable in developing your expertise for other positions supporting the centers, such as Contracts Support Specialist, Recruiter or Program Development Director.
Interested in broadening your experience with children? We offer opportunities to work with Infants/Toddlers as well as Preschool and School Age children. Enhance your child development skills by working in all programs. Our internal training department offers over 30 modules of training designed to help you enhance your child development knowledge and skills with all age groups.
Do you have other skills that you want to utilize day-to-day? Your bilingual language skills (especially Spanish) will enable you to assist children and families through one-on-one interactions. Your community knowledge and awareness will enable you to create partnerships within our local school districts and local community associations. Your marketing and planning skills will allow you to create special events and promote CDI within our communities.
At CDI, you’ll create a personal growth development plan. Our training programs provide our employees with opportunities to learn more about child development, child safety & health, management practices and develop leadership skills. As part of your annual performance review process, you’ll complete a self-assessment and receive feedback from your site supervisor.
What skills and attributes do you need to have to succeed at CDI? CDI has grown our programs through the active participation of our employees.
